Character turnarounds, concept art, and doodles
Character Designs
For this section, there will be showcases of character turnarounds that have been curated during my academic years that support the projects shown previously, such as the reappearance of All for Naught, Shattering the Glass, and Identity, each character with its own designated theme and style.

The most recent turnaround for a character design was for the female knight in All for Naught, Jezabel.
Her design is my interpretation of the artwork "The Coming of Lancaster" by Howard Pyles in 1908, the feeling of a sturdy, bold knight, adorned in royal red, standing before the people.
The horns stemming from her helmet assert a sense of potential evil and aggression, while her torn cape shows her worn from conquest.
the focal point of the character is to emphasise the red, rich, striking, and solid, and by also selling the point that this character is meant to be a fighter of the sorts.
My first year undergraduate project explored the theme of Identity, where the narrative follows a curious robot, Adam, who wanders through a strange memory of its code, and catches of glimpse of itself within a glowing ominous test tube, and learns to accept his enhancements and move embrace the past.
With Adam being a mechanical being, I put emphasis on the joints around the elbows and knees deliberately blocking them into shapes like I had put together a metal doll by hand.
the added joints of colour were used to exaggerate the viewers eyes, to ensure that the first thing they notice about the character is its lack of human anatomy,

Character turn-around of the main character from my recent group project "My Light in the Dark", Blaire.
The narrative of the 3D animation is from the perspective of Blaire, a shy, timid teenage girl, who is the victim of bullying. In the design, her hair is dishevelled, like a mossy curtain for her to hide under, along with the purposeful torn fabric of her school blazer to emphasise the severity of her bullied experiences.
as one of the character modellers for the project, the vision was to make the two characters of Amber and Blaire complete opposites, with Blaire being shrouded in darkness, as if she wants to disappear amongst the shadows, in contrast to Amber, who is bright, and cheery.
In addition to the character turnaround, I had wanted to give the animating team a more clearer visual for how the character of Blaire should act. With the character of Blaire leaning into the trope of a timid, skittish girl, her behaviour and expressions would assist how she will be envisioned when it comes to animating her in a 3D space.
It was by my own choice to produce a doodle of the character Blaire interacting with one of the props within the animation, to visualise how she would act outside of having her character design reveal subtle qualities in her story.

The character turnaround for the character Chi from Shattering the glass. Her character is both a shark and human, so I had to make sure her hybrid features were not misplaced during the shifting view of the side and back.
Her visuals for each angle were mirrored to keep them symmetrical, along with sharp lines along the hair and arms to act as shape guidelines for myself in the future when it comes to modelling.
the chosen colours for her relate to the attitude of a tiger shark, an emphasis on the animal-like name of the marine creature with its fiery orange fur, using that as Chi's hair colour to express a more powerful look to her figure. I have also kept the indents of the tiger shark as tattoos along her skin and tail, mimicking tiger stripes, and the gills of a marine creature.
Other Artworks (Misc)
Extra pieces of art that have been done as a hobby, that have no correlation to previously named projects.

the 5 main original characters that i regularly live-action roleplay with in a fictional setting.

Concept art for an upcoming character within a friend group I am working on. Similar to Jezabel, but from a particular fandom.

Arianne, a character with a completely different aesthetic to the melancholic style of muted colours, and also trying another hairstyle + body type for experimental purposes.

trying out a more experimental sketching style, with one of my 5 characters from the top.
Character design made for a project that was not used, but kept to show a variety in tones.

Another character that is part of a more futuristic world, not restricting the process of just making humanoid characters, but also the experimentation of robotic and mechanic beings from different universes.
